District 2: Rhonda Duggan (2024)

Rhonda Duggan

It is my honor to serve as the Mono County Supervisor for District 2. As one of the largest geographic regions of the County, District 2 is proud of its diversity and unique character. Our communities share a great love for the Eastern Sierra, and a fierce pride in securing it’s future.

As a 30-year resident of Mono County, I have called Crowley Lake my home since 1997. While growing up in Southern California, I attended both Fullerton College and California State University, Fullerton. Following graduation, I enjoyed a 17-year career in the retail industry before answering the call of the mountains. Like many of us, I moved to Mono County for the winters and stayed for the summers. I worked as a hospitality executive for Mammoth Mountain Ski Area for 20 years, and managed the Sierra Nevada Resort for seven years. I now own my own consulting business. I have served in leadership roles in a number of capacities, including on the Recreation, Tourism, Planning and Economic Development Commissions, the Mono County Arts Council, and the Mono County Grand Jury. Serving others has been my passion in the private sector, and I look forward to the challenge of representing and continuing to serve my community.

Mono County has faced many challenges, including drought, wildfires, recessions, and now a global pandemic and the impacts of its aftermath. These challenges jeopardize our homes and local businesses, and wreak havoc upon our local economy. I am committed to working with my fellow Supervisors towards our recovery, and protecting the interests of everyone in Mono County.

My priorities center around the areas of concern for the citizens of District 2:

  • Public Safety.  Improving government response, coordination, and communications, along with finding creative solutions to support our community.
  • Protecting Natural Resources. Tourism, recreation, and agriculture must protect our landscapes and waterways while supporting our economy.
  • Quality of life. We must find viable and fiscally responsible solutions for housing, waste management, and water rights.

We all share the desire to protect, preserve, and promote our part of the Eastern Sierra. I encourage everyone to visit the people and places of District 2 and learn why we love it. For me, I cannot imagine living anywhere else.

District 2 includes the communities of Crowley Lake, Chalfant, Sunny Slopes, Swall Meadows, Benton, Hammil Valley, Paradise, and Tom’s Place.
